TV Co-op Status Update 5-24-11
Posted on May 24th, 2011 No commentsTo all TV members,
We would like to thank you for your continued support through this time and again apologize for lack of updates. Your voices are unquestionably being heard and we are without a doubt progressing in our goal to once again provide safe and legal access to patients in Orange County. This process has been lengthy and difficult due to the number of illegal facilities that continue to operate during this time. Supporting these illegal facilities will only encourage more raids from the county and make it more challenging to re-establish permanent and safe access to medical marijuana in Orange County. There is much confidence that The Variety Co-op will reopen its doors very soon. We have created an e-mail list for members who wish to be alerted with our reopening.
Until then please continue to check our website for any updates,
Sincerely,
The Variety Co-op Staff

The Variety Co-op STATUS UPDATE 2/8/11
Posted on February 8th, 2011 4 commentsFirst of all, we would like to thank all of our members who have been contacting the county in support of The Variety Co-op. We apologize for the lack of updates since we have closed. Over the past month, we have been working our hardest to restore legal and safe access to patients living in Orange County. There has been much progress, and with your continued support, we are confident that The Variety Co-op will reopen very soon. Our hopes are to be able to open our doors sometime this month (February). Until we are able to open again, please continue contacting the county and tell them to restore safe legal access to marijuana in Orange County. As of now, Orange County residents and patients do not have a legal facility to access medicinal marijuana; only facilities without permits.
Updates will be posted as we receive them, so keep checking our website for more information.
Sincerely,
The Variety Co-op Staff

ATTENTION VARIETY CO-OP MEMBERS!!!!!
Posted on January 5th, 2011 4 commentsFor those of you who were uninformed, the Orange County Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance on December 7th, 2010 calling for the ban of all medical marijuana dispensaries, collectives and cooperatives in unincorporated Orange County. In accordance with the new ordinance, The Variety Co-op will be temporarily closing its doors on January 7th, 2010 until an agreement can be made with the County. For the past two years, The Variety Co-op has worked hard every day to provide a safe, comfortable and compassionate place for the patients in our community to come to for their medicine. The Variety Co-op Staff will continue to make every effort possible to provide this service. We will be working our hardest every day to articulate to the County the importance of local, legal and safe access to medical marijuana and pleading our case to re-open for our patients. The Variety Co-op does not want to operate against the wishes of the Board of Supervisors but will pursue the necessary measures to ensure legal access for the residents of Orange County.
It is very possible we can overcome this ban, but not without the help of all the members of The Variety Co-op! You are encouraged to contact your local District Supervisor. Please let them know the positive ways in which medical marijuana has benefitted your life and how much safe and legal access to your medication, as promised in Proposition 215 & SB 420, means to you. You can reach the office of your local Supervisor either by phone, fax or email. Their contact information is below:
